Telehealth

Currently, I offer therapy services only through a secure online platform.

I will be arranging an office space for in-person therapy sessions in the future.

I can also see clients via telehealth through PSYPACT, which is an interstate agreement that allows psychologists licensed in one state to provide psychological services to clients in another, as long as both states are part of the agreement. Check out a current map of eligible states here: https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap

Treatment Approach

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured and goal-oriented therapy that focuses on how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. By learning skills to change these patterns, you can reduce emotional distress and unhelpful behaviors. There is a substantial body of research (over many decades) that supports CBT for reducing symptoms of eating disorders, anxiety, and OCD.

CBT is a collaborative therapy where I bring knowledge from my years of training and you bring expertise from your lived experience. When combined, your therapy will ideally be tailored to you and will create meaningful change in your life.

Beyond general CBT, which is typically used to treat Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Health Anxiety, and Specific Phobias, there are many forms of CBT that have been adapted and empirically tested for specific diagnoses. Listed below are the additional CBT therapies that I have been trained in and am able to provide to you:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a focused form of CBT that targets anxiety by changing a person’s behavior in response to anxiety and fear. ERP helps people learn to approach and confront their fears in a structured and gradual way. ERP is the first-line recommended therapy for OCD and is incorporated as part of the behavior-based skills (the “B” in CBT) in most anxiety treatments.

  • Enhanced CBT for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) is a CBT therapy used to treat Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorder, and Otherwise Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED).

  • CBT for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (CBT-AR)

  • Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT)

Collaborative Care

I work closely with your other providers (e.g., psychiatrist, medical provider, dietitian) to provide care that is coordinated between team members and you.

This collaboration is particularly important during eating disorder treatment as there are potentially life-threatening medical and physical effects of eating disorder behaviors that need to be evaluated and monitored for your safety.

Culturally-Responsive Care

I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities and I recognize that every person’s identities shape what they need from therapy. I strive to collaborate with clients to provide a therapy that is responsive to their unique needs and incorporates evidence-based practices.

I aim to practice cultural humility and put active effort into learning about identities that are not my own and understanding how historical and current oppression impact mental health and therapy. I recognize that this is an ongoing and lifelong effort, and welcome feedback when I may not understand your perspective or experience. I approach learning about you with curiosity and respect.

In this spirit, I work to create a therapy space that is anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, and weight-inclusive (e.g., “Health at Every Size”).
