Telehealth Therapy for Eating Disorders and Anxiety
Warm, evidence-based care for adults in Washington and across PSYPACT states.
Maybe food has become something you dread rather than enjoy. Maybe anxiety has been gradually shrinking your world and fear has become the loudest voice in the room. Perhaps you've tried to get help before, but it didn't quite stick, or you're reaching out for the first time and aren't sure what to expect.
Whatever brought you here, I want you to know something from the start: your struggles make sense. They didn't appear out of nowhere, and they are not a reflection of weakness or a lack of effort. They are an understandable response to a complicated set of experiences, pressures, and circumstances. And with the right support, things can change.
Your struggles make sense.
Meet Dr. Ali Thiel
I am a licensed psychologist specializing in eating disorders and anxiety. My work is grounded in evidence-based treatments including CBT, ERP, DBT skills, and the intuitive eating framework. I always tailor treatment to you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. I see adults via telehealth in Washington and across more than 40 states through PSYPACT, so geography doesn't have to stand in the way of finding the right fit.

What to Expect
Taking the first step can feel hard. Here is what the process looks like once you reach out.
We start with a free 15-minute phone call. This is a chance for you to ask questions about me and my practice, and for me to learn a little about what you are looking for. Together we can get a sense of whether I might be a good fit for your needs. If I don't think I am the right match, I will do my best to connect you with someone who is.
01
Consultation
If we decide to move forward, I will send you paperwork to complete before your first session. During the intake appointment, I will ask about your background, your current concerns, and your goals for therapy. I will share my initial recommendations, and we will talk through whether they feel like the right direction for you.
02
Intake Session
From there, I typically meet with clients weekly for 50-minute sessions. Depending on your needs and treatment plan, I may recommend meeting more frequently for a period of time. Throughout our work together, I will regularly check in on how therapy is feeling and use ongoing assessment to make sure it is working for you.
