Fees

Deciding to invest in therapy is a significant decision, and I want to make sure you have all the information you need to feel confident moving forward. Below you will find details about my fees, insurance, and practice policies. If you have any questions that are not answered here, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Initial Intake Session (110 minutes): $540

50-minute Psychotherapy Session: $270

Private Pay & Out-of-Network (OON) Insurance Reimbursement

I am a private pay provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. Choosing a private pay therapist has real advantages: it allows for greater flexibility in your treatment, more privacy around your diagnosis and records, and the ability to work with a specialist whose expertise is a genuine match for your needs rather than being limited to providers within your network.

That said, I understand that cost is a real consideration. Many clients are able to offset the cost of therapy through out-of-network (OON) insurance benefits. I can provide a monthly superbill, a detailed receipt of services, that you can submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement, depending on your plan.

Please note that I am not a Medicare or Medicaid provider. Clients using Medicare or Medicaid are not able to submit claims to those programs for reimbursement for sessions with me.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company

If you would like to explore your OON benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance company directly and asking the following questions:

  1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?

  2. What is the reimbursement rate for an intake session (CPT code 90791) and a 50-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code 90834)? Will this change after I have met my annual deductible?

  3. Is telehealth therapy covered under my out-of-network benefits?

  4. How do I submit a claim for reimbursement, and is there a time limit for submitting claims?

  5. Do I need a referral to see an out-of-network provider?

It is your responsibility to confirm your benefits and submit claims directly to your insurance company.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

I ask that you cancel or reschedule appointments at least 48 hours in advance. I understand that life can be unpredictable, but because your appointment time is reserved specifically for you, late cancellations and missed appointments make it difficult to offer that time to other clients. For this reason, the full session fee will be charged for appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice or missed without prior contact.

To cancel or reschedule, you are welcome to email me or leave a voicemail, both of which are time-stamped.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost.

Under the “No Surprises Act”, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. In my practice, Good Faith Estimates are provided upon scheduling an intake appointment or upon request.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
